International Seminars
For many years, the Jugendbildungsstätte Kurt Löwenstein has organized a range of international workshops and seminars. On this page, you will find an overview of our seminar series.
Queer Easter
For the past 25 years, we have been organising our international ‘Queer Easter’ seminar at Easter, which is attended annually by more than 100 participants from youth organisations and LGBTIQ* groups. The seminar focuses on the question of how activists in the participating organisations can carry out educational work on diverse sexual and gender identities beyond heterosexual orientations, thereby helping to overcome discrimination and exclusion. However, the seminar also aims to examine the societal causes of this exclusion and discrimination, such as our society’s heteronormativity. Addressing societal conditions is central to us as an institution of political education: we see societal heteronormativityas one of the main reasons for processes of exclusion affecting people with LGBTIQ* identities. Our seminar concept is action-oriented and sustainably strengthens participants in their commitment to sexual and gender diversity.
