International Summer School 2025 - Registration is now open!
Papers for all or no papers at all!?
We live in a world where borders are not just lines on a map, but walls that separate dreams, people and rights. Migration is not just a “political issue”; it is the reality of millions of people seeking to survive, resist and find a place to be free. This Summer School proposes a space to understand the structural causes of migration, challenge systemic racism and explore alternatives from an approach of social justice and international solidarity.
In this year's Summer School, we will look at migration and all the issues and challenges around it. We will not only explore the circumstances that might cause people to migrate but also look at the situations they might be faced with in the places they migrated to. Bringing together people from all over the world, we will share experiences from our fight against racism and xenophobia in all their forms. Looking to the future we will discuss how we can bring about a world free of so-called "border crises", where everyone can go and live where they want to, how they want to.
The programme is developed by the International Team of Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre. We will work in track-sessions every day. But we will leave plenty of time per day for other parts of the programme participants self-organise, with the help of the International Team, but also themselves. In committees we organise our free time and evenings. We will have time to share workshops also participants bring with them and spend one day on a field trip in Berlin. Much more will develop and happen.
The seminar will be conducted in English; thus, it will be rather hard to understand the instructions and fully participate if your English is limited. However, you may help each other out in delegations.
